New Danfoss MBT 5116 Dual Temperature Sensor For Marine Applications
Danfoss launches a new variant of the MBT 5116. The existing version with one Pt100 element is supplemented by a new sensor with double RTD sensor elements for high reliability. The new sensor is designed to accurately monitor exhaust gas temperature to enhance engine uptime and to control emissions in marine applications. MBT 5116 is available now with all required marine approvals.
The new sensor represents best-in-class temperature control with redundant sensor elements and based on a Pt100/Pt 1000 element technology for standardized signals and high accuracy.
"Vessel owners and operators use exhaust gas temperature as one of the most important indicators of engine efficiency and correct emission levels. To meet the demand of precise and reliable temperature control, we have developed our MBT 5116 series further and added a new sensor with dual RTD sensor elements to provide redundancy", says Product Manager Bjarne Warming.
The new sensor offers the same advantages as the existing MBT 5116, built for long durability in the extremely harsh acidic environment of the exhaust system. It has been developed to meet the demands for reliability and is equipped with two sensor elements to provide redundancy.
Ships in international charter can be in continuous operation for months at a time. This places great demands on the durability of all equipment onboard. The new double-sensor MBT 5116 gives early warning in case of engine problems that may lead to break-downs or non-complying emissions due to incomplete combustion.
MBT 5116 is available now through all Danfoss sales channels. The sensor comes with all required marine approvals.
